Okay, i am all the way at the end of the game, and before i build my castle, i always like to clean house, move things, and generally make things nicer. i decided to destroy my forrest snow house and forrest desert tent, and use the love for two regular houses. once i smashed my snow house and desert tent, the pieces vanished and all that was left was the love and the snowman and stone statue (which i couldnt smash). even after i put the love back into regular kefling houses, the keflings still refused to work. i decided to smash the houses and rebuild the snow house and desert tent, but cannot make the pieces in the forest kingdom. also when i smashed the two new houses, four more keflings decided they didnt want to work. Is this a bug of some sort of bug? can i get the pieces back to rebuild the snow house and desert tent? please help, my keflings look so sad...

EDIT: i went back to my kingdom after posting this, and now the love from the two houses is gone. FML. please help if you can...

Considering that when you destroy a home, the keflings that are from that home don't disappear... they just stop working. The keflings from those houses are specifically ice kingdom and desert kingdom keflings, so that was a pretty dumb thing to do. They specifically need those houses to be of any use.

Nonetheless, it's definitely an issue that needs to be fixed... or maybe just have the pieces available in the shops to build.

after exhaustive attempts to get things back they way they were, i reloaded a previous save from three hours prior. i am happy to say that my keflings are no longer homeless and upset. i am still wondering why it ended up making more and more keflings homeless when i tried to reuse the love from the specific houses... maybe just a bug. or maybe im dumb for destroying things for no reason. anyway, now that i am done with the game, im gonna try and make my cannons play some music...

have just got this for the kids , they need a bit of help with it as only young,great game lol

we also had the same homeless problem when i took a heart from a home (to finish the desert tent in the forrest) this when i got the homeless problem at my factory as that was the one of the keflings made homeless,at which point they tell you to "build a new home so i can carry on working"

eventually i got it sorted after trying various things ie

I re-sited the house that i borrowed the heart from, this didnt work.
I made a new one from the blueprint, that didnt work !!

I gave up for a while and built some more building and did some tasks and was given a cosy heart so i built my second cottage and get four more keflings
this is when i noticed my factory kefling had started working again

so i am not 100% sure what sorted it but i'm sure the new cottage (a different habitat) appeared to be the solution

I'm not sure. The thing with houses and hearts is that a house by itself is useless. When you rebuilt the house for the Keflings made homeless, without another heart to put in the house it wouldn't fix the issue. Did you have a heart to put in it? When you put the heart you took from the house into the Desert Tent did you get some Desert Keflings? Also, when you built the cottage did you actually get four more Keflings, or just 2? If it was only 2 then I would assume the game reassigned the homeless Keflings to the cottage.

Did you accidently use it on a house before you built the tent?I got the tent pieces and heart but didnt realise i would get keflings so unfortunatelyi used it on a standard house to get some keflings that way, OOPS! ,thinking i could just get another later from harvesting

moral of story dont destroy houses lol

i have used parts from the nursery and university b4 i got the second book, to finish another building when the factory was out of use and couldnt make certain objects, this then enabled me to progress (I used the blueprints to help find another building (NOT house) with the parts i needed as i reasoned most buildings not needing a heart just a kefling to finish should not affect the game if this help anyone with build problems.
