Great list! A lot of it is dead on. A few notes below. Mike can correct me if I missed some reference he made (Mike wrote a lot of the story dialogue, and the original story came from Jeremy).

I thought I would start a list of references to out-of-game people, places and things. These are just from my memory playing the game, I am sure I missed some and I may well be guessing wrong on some of the references but these seem to be the best fit...
Shag and
Scoobs are a reference to
Shaggy and
Scooby DooThere's no Shaggy reference, is there?

The four bears (
that are not there) I believe are a reference to
The Country BearsI don't think we originally had anything in mind with the bears - it's a joke that just kinda grew out of control. On the other hand, I actually had nothing to do with the design of the (
nonexistent) four bears, so maybe Jacob was thinking of something when he made them...

The prince frog (sorry, can't remember game name) in the desert seems to look like
Kermit the Frog but to me looks more like the
frog king in Shrek I don't think the frog prince is a reference to anything in particular, except the basic fairytale concept of a frog prince. And we thought it would be really funny if he never said anything.

We actually went through a LOT of exploratory concept art on the frog prince. Pages and pages...

Ratbeard Kipling is a play on
Rudyard Kipling Mostly I think Mike just thought that was a cool pirate name.

Desert Grumpy Man I think is a reference to Mr. Nebbercracker in
Monster House or perhaps simply a reference to the iconic figure of an old grumpy man that has been around for nearly 3/4th of century now.
Actual inspiration for the Enchanter:
Shit My Dad Says (warning: contains swearing). You'll notice we borrowed a couple of phrases directly.

One Tree Hill TV series

I am the City"
Be It Ever So Humble achivo title is from the John Howard Payne poem "
Home Sweet Home"
I Would Walk 500 Miles achivo title is either from Nofx's or The Proclaimers "
I Would Walk 1000 Miles" or perhaps an off reference to Vanessa Carlton's "
I Would Walk A Thousand Miles"

Nice work! Those are all what I had in mind except One Tree Hill was inspired by the U2 song (as somebody mentions later in this thread).
And since all of those are
song references, we were thinking of
Home! Sweet Home! which of course uses Payne's lyrics.
I'm impressed you got the Abba song.

I'm a big Abba fan, and that's one of my favorite songs of theirs (
Check it out!), and I thought it was particular appropriate for this game.

And what is the constant reference to having something in their pants? Someone at Ninja Bee have an inferiority complex?
Definitely Mike. I mean, not that I would personally KNOW!

Another joke that grew out of control. That's one that came up in a brainstorming session, and my first reaction was "well there's no way we're going to use that joke in the game" but after a while it was hard to drop...

Another one like that was the Bears!!! joke. Why in the world does the king suddenly yell "Bears!!!" ? It's inexplicable.
