This is the official list of known issues with A World of Keflings, as of launch and before any title updates.

Feel free to comment on issues in this thread. But this first post here will be the official list of known problems, and I'll try to keep it up to date.

If you have any advice you can offer on how to repro these bugs, please chime in! A bunch of these are rare and/or of unknown cause.

Also, I'm going to go ahead and list everything I've seen here, even things that we haven't confirmed yet, and which may not actually be bugs. So, this is not necessarily an official list of things we're going to fix. However, the ones that we can confirm we will certainly try to fix in a title update.

---

* Sharing Quest Doesn't Go Away (bug #20157)

FIXED in interim update: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34299

The guy telling you to share your collectibles won't shut up, even after you share your collectibles.

Cause: If you share with people before getting to this quest, the quest won't complete. If you don't share until after, it works fine.

Workaround: Ignore him. Completing the quest doesn't give you anything, anyway.

* If you don't finish the paint shop before sending the princess away, you won't be able to finish the "painting the town red" quest (bug #20110)
* What's Next tells you in Forest Kingdom to talk to Princess when she's in the Desert Kingdom (bug #20110 - same bug)

FIXED in interim update: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34299

* Can't build final mystery blueprint (missing gift) (bug #20108)

FIXED in interim update: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34299

Cause: If you build the metal trader before unlocking Scoobs, one of the gifts won't be triggered.

Workaround: Be sure to unlock Scoobs (make sure you're caught up on Witch quests, go get the Crystal, give it to the witch, and then break it!)

If you've already built the metal trader before unlocking scoobs, there is no workaround besides starting a new game.

* Missing a book for the University (bug #20108)

FIXED in interim update: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34299

Cause: Related to building metal trader before unlocking scoobs. (see above)

* Crash when hitting RB (bug #20112)

Cause: Unclear. May have to do with building buildings in an unusual order?

Workaround: Unclear. Some players have reported success with just avoiding the RB button for a few buildings, and then it starts working. If anyone has details on this, please share.

* Kefling walks around underground (Rare) (bug #20123)

Cause: Unclear.

* It's possible to lose an eyeball, and therefore lose one potential potion. (bug #20133)

Cause: Unclear, but related to having a pile of stuff on the output square of the Witch's Hut?

* Reunited achievement sometimes fails to award (issue #20164)

Cause: So far, each case we've looked into has not actually been a bug. If you join somebody else's game *after* they first meet one of the builders (e.g. Bob or Doug at the very start of the game), then you won't get credit for that builder.

Workaround: Start a new game, play until you unlock Doug. This is just a few minutes, at most. At that point you should have credit for Bob and Doug, which is the most common cause of this issue.

* Leaderboard posting for Tower Spreader is sometimes broken (bug #20353)

Cause: Possibly only the first game posts to Tower Spreader, and subsequent attempts in the same session don't post. This needs to be fixed in a title update.

Workaround: Quit the game (to dashboard) and start again before joining your next live game to plant a tower. Sucks, I know.

Note: By design, you only get a tower spreader point for the first tower you place in a game hosted by someone you've never given a tower before.

* Keflings stop working (bug #20129)

Cause: Unclear.

* Save file overwritten by another player's save (bug #20126)
Rare, unconfirmed, reported by one player.

* Piles of Gears disappear when warping to other kingdoms and back (bug #20166)

Cause: Unknown. Not 100% repro.

* The game jumps around in chapters. (bug #20167)

Usually, this is not a big deal. Just keep finishing quests and you'll progress through the game fine.

Cause: If you don't unlock scoobs until after going back to the ice kingdom, chapter 3 happens after chapter 4. Other similar cases are possible.

* Progress in Ice Kingdom is lost when warping back from Forest Kingdom
(Rare) (bug #20131)

Cause: Unknown, but likely related to multiplayer play. Please give us info on this!

* It's possible to join a private game? (Rare?) (bug #20128)

No details on this yet.

* Problems with games showing up that are unjoinable? (bug #20128)

No details on this. May be the natural process of people kicking others out of games, and people exiting games abruptly, which leaves them in the game list for a while. (May not be a game bug).

* Component limit is not behaving correctly (bug #20354)

See http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 03&start=0
and comments in an earlier thread from Wolfie.

* Carryables don't show up in the game (bug #20356)

Aaarrgh! We finally tracked this down, and it turns out it's an issue with the technology we used, and it's "by design". We'll try to fix this in a future update, but it's very very complicated, so it may not happen.

* Having achievements in Comic Jumper notifies you of having unlocked another emote, yet the emote does not show up. (bug #20162)

Confirmed, no workaround. Unfortunately it won't be fixed until we do a TU, which is usually a long and painful process. But we WILL absolutely fix it. I'm very sad about this, since it was supposed to be a cool surprise for Twisted Pixel fans.

* It's possible to lose a silkworm in the desert kingdom, and thus be unable to activate the Silk Weaver (bug #20127)

Cause: If you kick silkworms together, separate them, save, and reload, they may be deleted. (This is confirmed by NinjaBee and will be fixed).

Cause 2: One possible cause is kicking one silkworm into another, and then kicking that pile into the Silk Weaver?
(This is not confirmed by NinjaBee.)

Please tell us if you can reliably repro this or any other scenario that loses silkworms.

See also http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=47705#p47705
and http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 46&start=0

* Under some circumstances, a second avatar named "(null)" shows up in a new single player game. (Rare) (bug #20173)

Cause: We have no idea. We've never seen this, and don't know how to repro it. Any details on how to force this bug to happen would be appreciated.

* A gift given in a cinematic that happens near the Glass Trader may convert the gift into glass? (Rare, Unconfirmed) (bug #20358)

Unconfirmed, but claimed by two players. We haven't seen this ourselves. And it's not possible to drop those items in the glass trader during normal gameplay, so we're not sure how this could be happening.

* Can build two Monstrous Perches (bug #20351)
Neither of which is breakable. Other problems result.
Maybe has to do with loading save?
See http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=34310

* Can break snow house and tent pieces (bug #20357)
http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 13&start=0

* Breaking houses repeatedly adds more and more homeless keflings? (bug #20359)
See http://ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 13&start=0 and this may explain some other problems we've heard of, too...

* Kicking two hearts together into a pile in the Ice Kingdom or Desert Kingdom crashes. (bug #20322)
Confirmed, logged, will be fixed. In the mean time, don't do that. :)

* Build 100 buildings achievement not firing at the correct time (bug #20137)
If the achievement isn't firing when you get to 100 buildings, just build a few more. Most users are saying that it is firing around 110. The achievement may not be counting certain buildings.

Thanks for the info on the sharing quest. That was all I had left in the Forest Kingdom and it was driving us mad.

Sounds correct on the missing mystery gift problem. I hadn't built the paintshop until the very end of the game. I went back to a previous save right before I built the airship for the princess, and I completed the Paint the Town Red quest. I've continued from there, but so far nothing else has triggered. Do I need to go back even further or is the blue sack mystery gift obtained much later in the game?

Good question. I need to get Mike or Tanner to jump in here, I think. I'll e-mail them.

I'm having the same issue with the blue gift bag. I did complete the Paint the town red quest during the game; not at the end. I never was asked to build a snow/igloo house either. I also never had any info. on the bears.

Reunited achievement didn't pop for me, and I've completed all the quests and the castle.

I can try clearing the cache/redownloading the game and all that and see if that fixes it.

(Is this correct?)

Workaround: None, except starting over.

Ugh, I need to come back to this list later, sorry...

That's why my game says talk to princess. LOL! * breaks paint shop *

I got an issue where apparently one of my keflings is stuck underground. I can see it's university hat zipping across the landscape, but that is all.

I had to re-do the entire game last night - got right to the end and didn't have Ratbeard's blue gift bag nor the blueprints to the building to the right of the gatehouse in the blueprint selection menu.
I believe I must've sent the Princess off too early, so he didn't ask me to build him the snow house (the blueprints I was missing).

I guess the workaround to most of these is to press RT and confirm you're doing the quests in the order the game wants.

Oh well, there are worse games to re-play :)

Only problem with that though is that if you dont have a quest started it only says "complete the keep" or "complete the castle" or whatever it says. (thats what it said for me almost the entire game.)

A simple solution would be to lock stuff until you are at the appropriate part of the story and stop the story until you complete all the appropriate parts to continue. It is way to easy to skip a huge part of the story and end up finding out at the end you didn't get something because you skipped it and thus wasted a huge amount of time.

In my first game I NEVER built the paint shop and still completed it. Just FYI.

If I recall correctly, the reward for completing the "Painting the Town Red" quest was a gear... not a gift.

This is actually NOT correct. The real reason this breaks is if you build the metal trader BEFORE you get Scoobs the builder (who is unlocked by taking the crystal of fluffy puppy dreams to the witch). Stay is right though - there is no workaround other than starting the game over, which really sucks, I know. REMEMBER - the paint shop has nothing to do with this bug. To avoid it, be sure to unlock Scoobs before building the metal trader.

Peace,
Mike.
