Hey, in case you haven't heard the latest NinjaBee news, here are all the latest details:

BUGS ON THE MOVE
Xbox LIVE Arcade title Band of Bugs crawling to the PC

Orem, Utah – NinjaBee, a division of Wahoo Studios and a leading developer and publisher of Xbox LIVE Arcade titles, announced the release of Band of Bugs, for PC gamers. The turn-based strategy title, originally released and made popular on Xbox LIVE Arcade, will be available Dec. 3 for download and play on Windows-based systems.

“Band of Bugs is our flagship game and we have received numerous requests to develop it for other systems. We wanted to demonstrate our commitment to these fans as well as reach out to a new set of turn-based strategy players,” said Steve Taylor, president of Wahoo Studios. “Now PC gamers can enjoy the innovative gameplay in Band of Bugs without having to own a console.”

While Band of Bugs delivers the deep strategic combat popular with experienced gamers, NinjaBee also designed the game to be accessible and appealing to those not familiar with the strategy genre. The campaign follows the young bug hero, Maal, as he joins the royal army of the Central Kingdom under the guidance of mantis warrior Tiernan. As Maal grows in understanding and ability, he commands more powerful heroes in larger groups on his way to saving his Queen and defeating the menace that threatens his kingdom.

In addition to the story-based campaign, gamers can play stand-alone missions and online multiplayer battles. The game also features an innovative map editor which allows players to unleash their creativity and design their own maps to play and share with their friends. The number of levels in the game is only limited by each player’s creativity.

Game Features:
--Choose to play through a story-based campaign, stand-alone missions or skirmishes.
Story-based campaign: Follow the adventures of Maal as he protects his kingdom from evil insect enemies with his select band of bug warriors.
Stand-alone missions: Each short battle includes a background story, individual goals and exclusive events.
Skirmish: Variety is the key in this game type: Choose a map, choose a mode (Elimination, Capture or Escape) and choose to control any party in the battle.
--Five unique multiplayer modes for up to 4 players either on one computer or over a network, including:
Elimination: The first team to lose every bug in one party loses the battle.
Capture: Capture or defend a strong point.
Escape: Reach an escape point, or keep the enemy away from that point.
Mission: A unique scenario with an individual story, events and goals.
Spider Hunter: a more relaxed game that allows up to 8 people to join and leave as they choose.
--Use the game’s built-in map editor to design your own custom scenarios to play and share with your friends.

The game will be released Dec. 3, 2007 and can be downloaded as a free trial or for purchase at NinjaBee’s Web site, http://www.ninjabee.com.

Make sure to check back here often for contests and other exciting news as the release date of the game gets closer.

Good job guys and gals.

I'm glad the testing went well, although I was unfortunately only active for a few weeks in the beginning.

You got some quality guys in that testing department.

I haven't done a lot of testing on it for a while, but most things were found it seems and the game is solid all the way around. This should be a very nice release :D

Awesome, Ninjabee! I am glad to have contributed something, although it was not all that much. At least I was useful for fixing some stuff for European keyboards :D

Congratulations to the NinjaBee BoB PC team!

I want to give a congratulations to everyone who worked to put out Band of Bugs PC! This was the first time I got to see the amount of testing and bug fixing actually goes on in the final stages of a game from being in the beta. It was crazy how in one day so many things could be found and fixed. Hopefully it sells a million copies (give or take)!

Hmm, just noticed that white text on the first post really blends in with the new background. I don't really want to mess with a post like this, so I'll leave it up to the professionals to decide on a fix.

Thanks, GameMaster. Wouldn't have noticed that if you hadn't posted about it. Thanks for keeping us on the ball! :)

So I bought and got all the achievements for BoB on 360 and now I've got the PC version, too. I have a question for y'all though, and there's 2 reasons. 1.) I love Microsoft's achievement system, and 2.) I think it would be interesting to learn what you guys know about the process. So with no further ado, why didn't you guys put achievements in BoB PC through Games for Windows Live?

Is there anyway to change the keyboard controls?

I have been playing primarily by mouse or keypad, but on my Thinkpad it is difficult to play while actually traveling. I can use the keypad overlay built into the computer of course, but I am left handed and would really prefer to assign ASDF side keys.

re: Games For Windows Live: Sure, it's really appealing to us. It's also a little complicated (yet more approval processes!), so we've been holding off for now.

re: Reconfiguring controls: Good suggestion. Let me ask around and see how hard it would be.
