(Topic title.) Is there any reason for this? I noticed there were two topics in the Off Topic forum as well with links to adult sites.
Edit: hey, 101st topic. Kind of an unfortunate topic to begin the next hundred topics, though (if there will be 100 more topics.)
Edit: topic title has been changed from "Strange topics have been popping up here lately..." to "Concerning Map Making".

I haven't seen this type of spam topic on any other forums... it seems pretty bold...

I don't think these forums have anti-Spyware software. (ie: Enter the characters as shown above; picture with oddly placed symbols looms overhead)

Whom ever moved this topic, can you keep it in the BoB forums? By "here" I meant the forum I posted it in. Also, I kind of wanted to make more use of it when my question was answered...
(Also, did I use "whom" correctly? It's such a dumb word.)

If you think those are bad, let me refer you to this guy/machine named Wilson. He was genuine NinjaBee crazy spam-bot-person with an attitude. He and Lifeforce had it out over his crazy walrus avatar awhile back.
Once I find the link, i'll show you the craziness.

I did actually add several anti-spam measures and mods, including requiring e-mail, requiring the answer to a custom question, and I thought there was a "enter these characters" thing when you first sign up, but maybe I'm wrong about that. It was a ton of work and had very little impact on the spam flow. The "humanizer" mod in particular I expected to work, but it didn't, really.
In any case, I've come to the conclusion that it's not going to get better (without severely hampering new people joining the fold) until we can upgrade to phpbb 3.0. This should be soon, but they still seem to be in "release candidate" phase, and the 3.0 builds are marked as "unstable".

If by "bold" you mean filled with explicit pornography, then yes, it recently has become a problem. It used to be just links but these days we're getting some pretty "bold" stuff.
Is there a limit on image posting stay? Like, you must have so many posts or be a member for so long before you can post images?
Looking forward to 3.0 though...that should be cool.

Basically, by 'bold' I had meant that it is a very serious thing to have them in forums viewable by children. I probably should have used a different word to describe them, I guess.
Secondly, I would like to change the topic title. How is this done?

Edit the original post, and edit the text in the topic title.
And yes, they are horrible. But spammers have no shame.

So, now that I've changed the topic, I have some things to discuss.
-(Poll)
-Making Pyramids.
-Are castle doors too high? (doodad) Edit: -to be used in your maps?
-And some other things I'll think of later.
-----
I'm trying to make pyramids in the editor, and I'm having a difficult time. Here are some things I've come up with (#'s represent tile height above ground level):
[1][1][1][1][1]..........[1][2][1][2][1]
[3][3][3][4][1]..........[2][3][4][3][2]
[3][4][5][4][2]..........[1][4][5][4][1]
[3][4][4][4][2]..........[2][3][4][3][2]
[3][2][2][2][2]..........[1][2][1][2][1]

You should be able to walk on the door tile. As It's kind of a wall prop, and I don't know about you but I find it quite easy to walk in front of a door.

Yea I agree with that statement, but I wanted to add a little extra idea that I had. Basically walk through the door. As in when you stand on the tile it opens up then you continue walking through and afterwards it closes again.

Are you suggesting that the door not be wall mounted, but placed in the center of a tile? I don't understand what you mean otherwise.
