Looking forward to downloading it, I have a MSPoints card waiting to be opened. This is a dumb question, because I'm going to go look as soon as I finish typing this, but are there any new Achievements with the pack? A whole new story mode would seem to work well for that. I'm guessing no, though, as I haven't seen it mentioned yet.

It adds 30 points, 15 points for completing the scenario, and 15 for getting at least all golds on all 10 levels. As of right now, they seem to be glitched (they don't add to your GS).

We're looking into the problem now.

Though, I have to ask: an entire new campaign, two new units, and a new environment for the map editor isn't enough to convince you without the achievements?

I'm afraid I'm also waiting for this GamerScore problem to be rectified before purchasing the extra pack. I'm still upset with Realtime Worlds for deleting all my Crackdown progress with their update so I guess that makes me naturally cautious now when it comes to situations like this.

I'm certainly not blaming this hiccup on NinjaBee though. This is the first Arcade game that Microsoft has experienced to go over 200 GamerScore points and I'm pretty certain that's where the problem lies. it sounds like the achievements unlock fine but the 360 then gets confused.

But I'm still happier today than you can imagine. The spider GamerPicture which has also been released is just what I've wanted on my GamerCard for months now. :D

Guys,

Just registered on the forums to say specifically this, since the devs seem to be reading the forums:

Thank you! :)

I got Band of Bugs when it came out, and after I was through with the campaign, I was hoping for some quality downloadable content. NinjaBee certainly delivered with this. This is great content, and certainly very reasonably priced, unlike what can be said of some other things on the marketplace. I sincerely hope you guys keep up the good work, and keep us well supplied with new campaigns. :D

Thanks!

Also sending my thanks to Ninja Bee. I needed something to play until Bioshock comes out and I already had Gold in every campaign mission. A $3 expansion fits the bill nicely. I love the game and hope it has sold well. Definitely looking forward to future Ninja Bee releases.

Just get the achievements ironed out :D

Achievements and their difficulty add longevity to a title. People who love the game, like all of us, won't really care. But there are always people who get games because they are easy gamerscore or only kinda like them and will return when their 200/200 turns in to 200/230 (or whatever.) This is why the Achievement system has changed console gaming forever. If I go play a game on my Nintendo Wii, it's completely without pressure if I want it to be. But, if I download a new game, suddenly it's "Oh, my gamerscore is 0/200 for this new Arcade game. People are going to think I only have the demo so I better do X to get one." I mean, I bet even a lot of us on these forums made a level to freeze the tiles even though we knew we'd be playing long enough to get the Achievement the normal way. It's just a mindset most active 360 gamers, including myself, seem to get into whilst playing.
So, that said, a patch would be nice...though I'm specifically taking it slow through this set of content to enjoy every bit. I felt as though I rushed a bit through Maal's story (even though it took me three days, rather than one like the rest of you...) so I'm going to play levels over even when I have golds and platinums and use the level editor and play online more. Also, if I remember correctly, are you guys friendly with the guys at Gastronaut and/or The Behemoth? Because you could totally rub it in their faces about a patch because they took their sweet time with one. Though I'll forgive The Behemoth because Castle Crashers looks fun.

Edit:
I forgot my original question. XD I have this program running that sends my Xbox Live status periodically to my Twitter account, so I was a little confused when I saw the status I had while I was playing Band of Bugs:
"Band of Bugs, (>^_^)> --> <(#_#)> Sun Flower."
So...uh...why is Kirby dying my status? :P

Good for you. I, on the otherhand, played and beat the campaign fairly quickly. That being said, I already invested a few hours trying and gaining a bunch of #1 times. I also built a pretty cool map with the desert tileset. Fun times.

There are some. There is one in TMNT 87 Arcade, which adds 0 Gamerscore and I think there are some in BfME 2 for losing to someone ranked bellow you!

EDIT:

I just downloaded it an it is completely awesome! I havent had time to play through much of the campaign, but I did the first one and I also tried out the artillery in a quick custom map and the two units are awesome!

The cavalry is precisely the type of maneuverable non-flying bug with a very cool lance, which damages a lot and has a great range which can be very handy. The Run skill I know from an Escape map, where it saved me (and my Grunt) and it is a very tactical skill with great value. Additionally the morning star seems to be one of the better alternative weapons as it has a higher critical and knockback than the Lance, making it preferable for cramped situations with lots abysses and water.

The artillery is much cooler than the mages. Personally, I thought the mages were fine, but for some good old medieval-style bug wars, the catapult snails make more sense to me and they seem to be quite davastating. Slow and not that well armoured of course and it makes them a tactical challenge for both those who fight with and those who fight against them. Obviously you don't want your units cramped up.

I think that the two units will be a crucial help to make fun and balanced asymetrical maps with e.g. one side having large artillery support, while the other has fast and deadly cavalry units which can spread out and avoid the artillery, but then the catapults might benefit of enviormental advantages. Ah - the possibilities are endless!

The new tileset seems fresh and all, but not my kind of thing. It is nice to look at something different and the off-map background is awesome, but for my own maps, I think I will stick to the good old Leafy and Rocky. Personal preference of course. The doodads look awesome though and I might just not be enough into it to like the tiles themselves more than the other things in the pack.

Looking forward to do the missions (and get the achievements) and I think this is the best content pack released yet on the 360 as its price is phenomenally cheap. I mean - the River 2 expansion for Carcassonne is 300 points and it is so bare-bones. This content has awesome content-per-point value. Even Shivering Isles was overpriced a bit...

So great job, NinjaBee! This will keep me playing BoB for a long time to come!

9/10

I really enjoy the game, going to download Red Kingdom when the gamerscore thing is fix. Hope there will be more stuff in the future.

Thanks

And the Carcassonne - Rivers II Expansion Pack is 300 ms points not 200.

I've been neglecting this pack for a bit too long now. I need to try and get on later when I have a large amount of free time and see how far I get through the new campaign. Ten new missions sounds awesome!

You have also been hiding from the fact that one day you will have to meet me on Live and get your ass kicked by my dash-wiedling cavalry bugs!

Sounds cool. Worth the purchase or should i lay off?

Also - is the the only content BoB will be getting or can we expect more from you guys?

Not sure. The catapult unit is kind of useless, considering that the fire mage does everything he does, better.

The one on horseback is really nice addition, however, making multiplayer maps with the new enviroment is rather annoying. It's impossible to put grass tiles with sand or dirt and have the other two not look hideous.

The mage can only cast its fire AOE a few times where as the catapult unit uses it for its main attack and as long as its alive you can use it so unlike the mage it never runs out.

All in all I loved the new campaign although it was a bit short. The new tileset is great and I love the 2 new units. IMO it's a must buy if you have band of bugs.
