Personally, I can't get enough of COD4 after 5 months. I have 41k kills in it. And just over a week of playtime...yikes.

How about you guys?

I know and the forums been dead ever since. (well not dead dead  )

Anyway well I've been playing Lost Odyssey a lot, but not really addicted to anything else as of late. I did just get Obscure 2, I liked the first one a lot and we'll see how good the second one is.

On a side note I kind of hated COD4, the single player was terrible, and I find the multilayer is bland and generic. The COD series never really changed since the first one, and I did extremely like the first one. The second and third one were good, nothing great, but the 4th one was horrible.

I have been playing a fair amount of CoD4 lately, but I wouldn't say I am addicted. In the last few days actually spent more time working on Fable.

CoD4 is a bit generic, but less so than Halo 3. I liked Vegas 1 and have considered the second one, but all I hear about are connection issues which is the reason I gave up on the first game about a year ago. I don't think I am willing to gamble the price unti I start hearing better stability reports. There seemed to be more teamwork and strategy in Vegas 1 than any of the other shooters I have played recently.

Guitar Hero III. I've beat the game on Medium, now going back and getting all 5 stars on Easy and I just finished Co-Op with my husband. Once I'm done with Easy, I want to go back and 5-Star all the Medium songs, or just move straight onto Hard. It's SO much more enjoyable than easy! But what can I say, I've become somewhat of an achievement whore.

Speaking of CoD4 multiplayer, I'll probably be playing even less than I am now owing to the fact that the maps are going to be made mandatory. I'm not shelling out 800 points for 4 maps, no way.

Mandatory? I thought they were on a seperate playlist.

I have a simple rule with multiplayer games, if not buying maps forces the searching for a new game I sell it. Limit me to servers without the new maps, I don't care, but if I get in a cycle and then kicked when a map Idon't own shows up then screw that. Plenty of other games I want to play.

So, anyone know if the maps are truly mandatory or not?

Since trying to go onto the Variety servers without having the map pack prompts you to purchase it, I assume it will be required once the maps are integrated into the playlists.

I'll try it in the morning. My school week ends at midnight on Tuesday morning so I have been rather swamped.

I understand the need to sell new maps and all that, but I refuse to be crippled for not purchasing an add on. Even more so if they release a sequel every year merit or not. I enjoy CoD4, but a yearly release no matter what...grrr...

I thought Microsoft said DLC can not be on a ranked play list if it is required, maybe there just talking about the free maps?

If I could stay connected to XBL I would test and let you know.

HDD space is becoming a premium on my 360 lately. The more free maps the better, but making them mandatory to play I take issue with even if free. Get a few games with mandatory free downloads and suddenly you have taken up a lot of HDD space. A few MB is one thing, but some of these map packs are a few hundred MB each.

EDIT: I have yet to be kicked form a game due to lack of the map pack. For now the new maps seem to be on entirely seperate playlists, but I am wondering what will happen when they are added to a rotation of all the maps, or if they will even make a playlist with all of the maps.

Also have been addicted to The Orange Box PC. I got Garry's Mod recently and it is so much fun when you are with a good friend. Me and him are planning on building a giant pinball machine next chance we get... wish us luck! I might have screenshots of it when we finish.

I'll vs you at some GHIII and TF2 at the same time. :D
