my kids love watching me play (and now playing themselves) clyde. nice job on this game...

question: clyde has all kinds of sayings, but we have a tough time understanding exactly what hes yelling sometimes... (is it pecking duck, or peking duck")?

was wondering if anyone had a list of all his sayings... thx

I believe that "peeking duck!" is correct, if I spelled it right. And "yo sensai" or something is another.

Stay would certainly know better then me, though.

Well, it's definitely "Peking Duck" (like the famous chinese food dish), and "Yes Sensei" (though sometimes to me it sounds like "Si Sensei" for no explicable reason).

Peking duck
Yes sensei
I'm a ninja
Killer Kenn!!!
I dunno
Duh
Hiyah!
Waaaahhh!

Other:
I am a robot
Take me to your leader
Aaahhh

I think that's it.

We recorded a bunch of others but decided against some of them. One, in particular was 'All your base are belong to us'.

I vote that we give his post the "Best Bump" award. Anybody agree?

Yes, easily the best bump. Informative, inside info always gets extra points!

I would love to hear how he said "All your base are belong to us." Do you have the file anyway that we could download?

Why was it nixed? There aren't copyright issues with quotes are there?

We only used a few per character. The 'all your base...' one was, I believe, for the robot-Clyde...but we went with others. Copyright fears may have played into it. We didn't really research copyright issues because we didn't care to keep it enough to make the research worth it. And generally when dealing with copyright issues, I think a 'better safe than sorry' approach is wise.

Ultimately, that cut was more related to the fact that it seemed a bit cheesy. I don't know that it was ever seriously considered as an option. We just recorded it whilst brainstorming.

I'm sure we have the original files somewhere. I don't know what the policy is on those. Stay would have the say in that as far as downloading/sharing rights, etc....

It would be awesome to have a lot of the files used in the game. Music is probably the biggest.

Wouldn't it be cool to use Clyde sayings as a Windows sounds profile? Everytime you get an error box it says "Peking Duck" or something!

The achievement unlocked noise is used for all my system messages. It's crazy. I have the file if you want it.
