Hey. Just nipped home at lunch and managed to play through 3 levels i think. One thing I noticed was that I couldnt really hear much music going on. Should be a continuous soundtrack?
Cheers

Yeah, that was a specific design decision - there are little music riffs that play at various points depending on what you do, but the main audio in the game is stuff going on around you and noises clyde makes. One reason for this was to keep download times short - we're proud of the <25MB download... Hopefully you don't miss the music too much!

I personally like how the music plays at certian points. Makes me feel like I accomplished something. The sound effects really play out in silence to, and the weird noises are just too cool!

Thanks for replying. 25mb is impressive, but how much extra would a few tracks of audio cost in terms of space?! I'd even compose a few for ya!
The feeling ive gotten running round single player is one of emptiness when it comes to the music. The sound effects are great but obv there is a limit to these and repetition can happen quickly I assume. The gameplay is also great but I guess this is where custom soundtracks can hold their own. Loving Cloning Clyde to the sounds of Master Chief ( http://www.myspace.com/judgenash) especially the Mrs Stevenson track!

Download size was a major concern on this title. I would have LOVED to put more music in. But we were really struggling to keep it minimal (file size wise). Partly the feeling was that if we only had 2 or 3 tracks that looped, it would get really annoying, and if we made enough music to not be annoying (with somewhere around 40ish levels) the file size would get ridiculously huge.
Hopefully in the next J. Kenworthy project we'll be able to use more music. We'll have to wait and see.

Why not make the music the first CC add-on, so that those of us who do want it can download it separately?

I usually put on "Sing Sing Sing" by that jazz guy. Fits perfectly. Sounds a bit like the Outpost Kaloki Soundtrack come to think of it...
Peer Gynt's quite nice too.

Lol, that song is on Donkey Konga, and I thought the same thing.
