I'm on the second level of the demo, I build my first lemonade stand and no one ever visits so I make no money. Am I missing something totally stupid or is the demo bugged. I'm definitely going to buy this game.

It all depends on the *demand* for an item. Check those bars on the right hand side to see what people are looking for in each category (Science, nature, etc.) and then build accordingly. That should help.
What is the goal of the mission (I can't remember anymore)?
