Having just finished my run through the War Story, it really was a disappointment, i had expected something a bit more challenging (although i have a few number #1's on it to go back and attempt), maybe there should of been a couple more levels added with what i had expected, this would have been a level where you had to properly defend the base while having to meet finiancial expectations and building objectives on financial ports. Some of the levels seemed to entail similar lines to the adventure story with no gun involvement which were OK, levels basically entailing an adventure story but with very very minor requirements of needing a gun like destroying two ships that were also ok. Then there were the levels you needed to build a big defense to fight a load of enemies that were just boring to say the least, as you simply start the level with enough money to build a batch of guns, repair ports and power then once its all set up let your money run into the negatives as you don't need it, by having destroying ships that appear at the same intervals the only objective it means all the finish times are practically the same and getting a number 1 spot is almost impossible and purely a matter of chance which leaves no challenge for replayability. I thought maybe the enemies might appear faster if there was more attraction financially which would of been clever but unfortunately not.

I assume the survivor level is like i imagine but i'll have to try that out tonight and see. If not i doubt ninjabee will do any more add ons for this now but i think an additional story of just a few levels like the Love Story that fully integrated a financial and defensive achievement would be much more interesting.

Any thoughts from others?

Apologies if this has been discussed before, i've not looked through past threads about it.

agius1520,

Thanks for the feedback! Balancing the difficulty of the game has been challenging - we've certainly gotten mixed complaints about the game being too easy as well as too hard. We even got one about it being offensively stressful. :)

One of the difficulties with OKX in particular is finding a balance where you have something to do the whole time. There are, unfortunately, a few levels where you really do have to just sit and wait for the end. :( This is something we've talked a lot about since then, working hard to avoid similar problems in future games or future expansions.

In any case, we appreciate the comments!

I thought Cloning Clyde showed a lot of improvement in concepts for a single player game, although being different in genre from OKX.

There were very few (and none that I can recall) issues where I could recall being annoyed by the game. The only level I can recall was the one with the very long ladder and lots of little tiny platforms to navigate. I hated that climb back up lol.

I have to say that I would rather play OKX and Cloning Clyde over Phantasy Star Universe, Dead Or Alive Xtreme 2, or Over G Fighters. There've been some real crappy full-retail releases for the 360. It's a shame production costs are so high for 360 games. Is it confidential information to inquire how much OKX and CC cost to make?
