I remember seeing that tip about 'some keflings do certain jobs better/more efficiently' (can't recall the exact wording, but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about), and I thought to myself, 'well, I should google later and see what that's about. So I googled 'gender difference in world of kefling' and fortunately for me, stay's post from AKFK forums came up in the top ten.

Well, I was thinking I would keep it a secret, but hey, these forums are in a quiet spell, so even if I tell you it'll be pretty close to a secret...

Female keflings are slightly more efficient at harvesting wool and logs. Male keflings are better at harvesting stone and crystals. This is a subtle effect, so it's not really necessary to know it. But now that you DO know, it'll be hard for you to ignore it when assigning keflings, won't it?

Season variations are also very subtle. Some resources are easier to harvest in certain seasons, as sloop1 mentioned. Sheep also regenerate wool at a varying rate, depending on seasons.
http://www.ninjabee.com/forums/viewtopi ... 11&t=33875 Granted, that's for KFK, but: does the same hold true for WOK? If so, I've been doing it all backwards! I always made my crystal gatherers be females and my lumberjacks be men. I think it's because of that 'I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok' song, and also there's something fittingly funny about "girls poking shiny things with sticks". Or is that just me?
Altho now that you mention it, it does explain why that one female kefling I made be a lumberjack managed to clear-cut one entire side of the map by herself...
Does this also hold for ice and ore? Brambles are wood-type, ore is... rock-type? Ice is........ also rock? What about sand? Also rock? It occurs to me I did not pay attention to the gender of the keflings in the sand area at all... but I sort of think they might be all guys.
I might have to fire up my save file again and reassign everyone, except I think I'm done so hmm... not sure what to do now X D
